JohnJenkinsDesign - "Battle of the Plains of Abraham - 13th September 1759"

Manufacturer:   JohnJenkinsDesign

Scale:    60mm (1:30)

Hi,

just a short post about my newest figures for my toysoldier collection.

Again my alltime favorite period of warfare - FrenchIndianWar or SevenYearsWar.

These figures belong to the range of "Battle of the plains of Abraham" or also called "Battle of Quebec".

During this battle the leader of the British forces James Wolfe and also his French counterpart General de Montcalm had been killed.

If you like to know more about that battle here is a link to the incredible website of www.kronoskaf.com.

https://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=1759-09-13_-_Battle_of_Qu%C3%A9bec

I love these kind of figures, but they are not easy to be found as they are sold out.

Cheers

Mike

The two new figures integrated into the showcase though this scene shows the Battle of Monongahela, not the Battle of the Plains of Abraham.

A visit to the "Internationales Maritimes Museum" in Hamburg

Hi again,

on our trip to the tabletop convention "Tactica" in Hamburg in end of February we also visited the "Internationales Maritimes Museum" in Hamburg. It is really worth a trip. Thousands of model ships in every size from 2cm to 8m.

https://www.imm-hamburg.de/

We had been flashed by the immense input and eyecandy. If you are a fan of ships you will have to go there. And if you are also a fan of model trains - here is another trip advice - https://www.miniatur-wunderland.de/ . This exhibition is about half a mile away from the IMM.

So - enjoy the show.

Cheers

Mike

The Shop-area - with hundreds of little warships, but not cheap.

Models from the manufacturer Wiking, which also produced aircraft models, vehicles for model railways and ships.

A small part of a showcase that impressed us very much. Another picture will try to show the immense showcase with hundreds of ships in 1:700 or even smaller.

A first try to catch the showcase.

Teaching models of the US Navy.

A model of a part of the harbor of Hamburg.

Admiral Nelson´s sea battles.

Pearl Harbor ...

... with a lot of mini mini mini Zeros.

Helgoland 1890 made by paper models

Unbelievable - each ship is about 5 to 10 cm - just have a look at the rigging.

Do you recognize the small black dot in the middle of the ship? It´s a crew member ot the model ship.

This ship is about 8cm in length.

And here is its crew. Only zooming with the camera made me see them.

Models made of ivory.

Model ships made from bones.

Ships made out of amber.

A whaling boat on the hunt.

The "Nautilus"

A relief of the world.

This models hangs from the ceiling and is about two meters in length.

A model made with Lego. This is about 5 metres in length.

Perfect job for retired modellers - just keep one place reserved for me.
